Poidevin, Simon, & Jim Webster
- For Love Not Money - signed by Poidevin The Simon Poidevin Story
ABC Enterprises, Crows Nest, NSW, Australia, 1990. Octavo; hardcover, with illustrated endpapers; 205pp., with many monochrome illustrations and 6pp. of full-colour plates. Signed in ink on the title page; slightly rolled; text block edges lightly spotted. Dustwrapper is lightly rubbed with very minor edgewear; now professionally protected by superior non-adhesive polypropylene film. Very good. An overview of the changing game of Rugby Union, not from the glamorous, point-scoring perspective of the backline stars, but from the bottom of the ruck, a view often obscured from the eyes of spectators. Simon Poidevin began playing the game in his home town of Goulburn NSW, before being selected for the 1st grade and thereafter becoming a "fixture" of Australia's participation in the world game. He outlines his experiences to Jim Webster in this book, of the changes, both politically and personally, which he experienced from the late 1970s through the heyday of his time with the game in the 1980s.
